Hello and welcome to Hills of Mercy Counseling!  Choosing a therapist that is a good fit for you is a very important choice, and, if you are like me, you’d like to get to know the person you are choosing a little more!  Originally from Walton, West Virginia, and having grown up in Orlando, FL, I did my undergraduate work at the University of Central Florida.  After graduating with a BA in English Literature, I immediately moved to Boston and began a successful career in the magazine publishing industry.  A few years after college graduation I was blessed to become a published author with my work appearing in books such as “Life Savors”, “Cup of Comfort Devotional for Mothers and Daughters”, “All My Bad Habits I Learned from Grandpa”, and “His Forever, Real People Coming to Jesus”.  Later, I would obtain my Master’s in Psychology graduating Cum Laude from California Southern University.

While I thoroughly enjoyed my internship, working with elementary and middle school students in the Temecula and Banning Unified School Districts, my heart and mission lies in helping marriages in crisis, most especially veteran, firefighter, and police officer marriages.   It is with that heart that I founded Hills of Mercy Counseling, a place to find support when it can feel like your whole world is falling apart.   Whether it’s marriage, parenting, or health goals and motivational needs, it is the intention of Hills of Mercy Counseling to cultivate hope in every situation.  Hills of Mercy Counseling is so dedicated to helping veterans that my husband and I also provide affordable housing to disabled veterans in the Appalachian Mountains and hope to expand that ability to Southern California very soon.  Hills of Mercy Counseling was founded based on the trials and tribulations in my own marriage, if you can name it, most likely we survived it and thrived through it!

Another goal of Hills of Mercy Counseling is to provide affordable mental health care in the business model of my dear friends John and Kelly Cassone.  Hills of Mercy will offer affordable group therapy at the offices of Cassone Wellness. Individual sessions are also available, please contact for rates and insurance information.

And, speaking of spouses and children, I am the extremely proud wife of a former Soldier.  I have been with the love of my life for going on 30 years.  We are blessed with two adult children and one grandchild! Together, my husband and I are actively involved in our church and with helping veterans.  When not working you will find us hiking, riding in our Jeep, at the beach, or spending quality time with our three dogs, an Akita, a Bull Mastiff and our old man, a Blue Heeler.

I hope this short bio gives you a better feel for who I would be as your therapist!  Thank you for taking the time to read and I look forward to hearing from you soon!
